This Nigerian agritech startup is transforming food processing by linking farmers and agri-food factories to make them more efficient and profitable.

Releaf is a supply chain technology company that supplies ingredients to African Food Factories.

Ikenna Nzewi is the CEO and co-founder of Releaf.

The innovative tools used by Releaf to decentralise agricultural processing are geolocation tool (to identify the nearest factories to producers); technology to facilitate nut cracking; and a software that allows partner producers to manage their stocks.

In 2022, the company announced that it has raised $2.7 million in seed.

In just eighteen months of operation, the start-up has developed a network of 1,000 smallholders supplying food factories with over 10,000 tonnes of nuts.

The agritech startup has also invested in improving the factories’ equipment and plans to extend its model to other agricultural products.
