She Was Diagnosed With A Chronic Illness While Younger & This Affected Her Academics, She Doubted Ever Becoming A Graduate, Today She Has Bagged 2 Degrees At Age 30

A young lady named India Whaley is in a celebratory mood as she recently graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law and the Darla Moore School of Business.

Growing up India was diagnosed with a chronic illness while in her ninth grade and by her eleventh grade year she had failed out of all of her classes.
She was depressed and never evisaged that she would one day become a graduate.

She shared her career journey as she was excited about her graduation on LinkedIn, read her post below:

My heart is full. I experienced one of the most joyous occasions of my life over the weekend.

Today, I can officially say I am a graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law and the Darla Moore School of Business. I walk into a new season of my life as a Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration graduate.

The little girl in me still remembers the day I was diagnosed with a chronic illness. I was in ninth grade and by my eleventh grade year I had failed out of all of my classes.

I fell into a deep depression, questioning my next steps. Would I graduate high school, would I go to college? Like many others I have experienced homelessness and many adversities… BUT GOD!! He had a different plan from what I saw in my reality.

That was over 10 years ago. Now that little girl is a grown woman who remembers where she’s been but looks forward to where she is going.

2022 has been a year of many milestones— including turning 30 and now I close the year out two degrees hotter.

I chose to take non-traditional graduation pictures because my journey has been unique. I wanted pictures to reflect the beauty and strength in my growth, with the boldness of being a Child of the Most High. This is my story, but this is HIS glory.

Congratulations to her.
