Meet – Florence Jedidiah Mulenga, at age 21, she conceptualized an anti-asthma body spray that could potentially prevent asthmatic patients from having asthmatic attacks whilst using the body spray as a daily deodorant.

Her body spray concept has been pitched in several competitions in Zambia and South Africa and she emerged victorious in those competitions.

This award-winning innovator and aspiring pharmacist is from Lusaka, Zambia. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Pharmacy at the University of Zambia.

In 2019, she won the Best Student Startup Idea under the Zambia Entrepreneurship Summit and First Prize Champion of FEMBIOBIZ.

In 2020, she was awarded as the Young Pharmaceutical Innovator of the Year by The Pharmaceutical Society of Zambia; her innovation also scooped The National Youth Technological and Medical Innovation Award by The National Youth Development Council.

In 2021, she was awarded the Economics Association Of Zambia Innovation Award and was listed on the Top 30 under 30 Future of Zambia by The Dream Factory.

Florence Mulenga is a Project Manager at the Zambian National STEM Foundation and a Communications Assistant at When Female Leads.

“I believe that people’s biggest dreams in life require them to step out of their comfort a little and create a positive impact in society. I encourage people to believe in themselves or no one will.”

“Once you believe in yourself, others join you in yourself-belief. You can change the world, it doesn’t matter where you are from,” said Florence Mulenga.
