Paula-Peace James-Okoro graduates as a Biochemist and wins PhD scholarship to University of Cambridge
An exceptional Nigerian Lady named Paula-Peace James-Okoro has won the prestigious Gates Cambridge Scholarship to earn a PhD in Clinical Biochemistry after earning an outstanding first-class degree in Nigeria.
Paula-Peace earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Covenant University, Nigeria as the best graduating student with a 4.98 grade point out of a possible 5.00 grade point.
After her Bachelor’s degree, Paula-Peace proceeded to apply for the Gates Cambridge Scholarship, a scholarship awarded to outstanding applicants from countries outside the UK to pursue a full-time postgraduate degree in any subject available at the University of Cambridge.
Paula-Peace celebrated her achievement on LinkedIn. She said: “It fills me with so much joy to announce that I have recently begun my fully funded PhD program in Clinical Biochemistry at the University of Cambridge.
I was awarded the prestigious Gates Cambridge scholarship (surreal!) and a Doctoral Training Programme in Medical Research (DTP-MR).”
She noted that her journey to become a scholar has not been an easy one. “There were moments when it felt like it was impossible to get here – uncertainties, sleepless nights, and emotions. Eventually, all of the hard work paid off even better than I could have imagined,” she explained.
