As I round off my Internship programme at BUA Cement Plc. this week as a soon to be mechanical engineer 😂😂, I said I’d tell everyone here about it and how positively impacting the journey has been for me so far😁😁.
Some months ago, I could recall messaging different human resources managers and sending several mails to over 15 manufacturing/production companies telling them how I would love to gain experience from them.
Fortunately, I got a response from one company out of the 15, saying I should be prepared to travel over for an exam and interview. And at the time, I couldn’t risk traveling all the way from Sokoto to Ibadan for something so uncertain, “what if i fail?”😂😂.
Well in the end, I was accepted by BUA Group cement company where I learned so much about cement production and the roles every mechanical engineer plays in the plant.
I was privileged to have been entrusted with tasks and taught so well that I almost didn’t believe I was still an intern😂.
My gratitude to every engineer, technician and mechanic who during my stay impacted so positively into my life.
BUA Cement Company were so hospitable and I am so grateful to have been a part of them, even if it was for a short while.
