Man Who Struggled To Pay 60K Yearly Rent 2 Years Ago Now Pays Same Amount For An Hotel, Shares Motivation

A young man named Inneh Joseph has gone down memory lane as he shares his success story

Read his post below as shared on LinkedIn:

2 years ago, I was evicted from my one room apartment in Mararaba, Abuja because I couldn’t pay up the rent

Rent was 60k/year and I struggled to pay for it in months. I would plead & plead for patience that I’ll soon pay up

I eventually paid 6 months late. The caretaker couldn’t take it anymore & that’s how I was evicted from the apartment

that was in 2020 in the heat of the pandemic and you know how rough things were then

I got the apartment as a Youth Corper & my intention was to retain the apartment & start out my life in Abuja after service

I didn’t want to go back home, but this eviction literally forced me out of Abuja back home to Benin City

Omoh.. coming back home with no job, & no money wasn’t part of my plans at all

but Sapa can change your plans anytime yunno 😄

My hope of going back to Abuja was hinged on getting a job there, but I never got the job

anyways, fast forward to 2 years later

2 years later, the same 60k I couldn’t afford in ONE YEAR, is what I’m paying for as a transport fare in ONE DAY

the same amount I struggled to pay for in one year, is what I’m paying for hotel accommodations in a few days

What changed? Well, I stopped hoping people would be kind enough to just help me with a job

Instead, I focused on increasing my value by learning new skills & building my own business

In 2 years! If someone had told me 2 years ago when I was wallowing in depression & self pity that I’d be where I am today, I wouldn’t have believed it

The goal of this thread is not just to motivate you, yes that’s good, but I want it to provoke you to TAKE ACTION!

If there’s one regret I have today is that I didn’t realise this early enough in life

Behind every “testimony” you see today, is someone who took desperate action or a “leap of faith”

It’s not because God likes them more or because fortune decided to favour them now.

NEVER FORGET THIS, “Fortune favours the consistent”

The life you desire, someone somewhere is already living it. Find out what they know & what they are doing LEGITIMATELY

If you consistently commit to learning what works and doing the right things, you too will testify someday

Cheers 🥂
