Lady Who Started Saving At 17 Buys New Home At Age 23, Says Her Parents Exposed Her To Real Estate Early

A young lady named Madeline Aviles has shared how she saved and acquired a new home at age 23, says she got the knowledge of real estates from her parents.

Sharing photos of her new home on LinkedIn, she wrote:

I’m a homeowner at 23 🏡🔑

My parents exposed me to real estate early on. I remember viewing investment properties with them, listening in on phone calls with their agent, seeing the before-and-afters of their flips, helping them paint and prepare homes for move-in day, hearing their horror stories about tenants, and everything in between.

It gave me comfort knowing they started with nothing, taught themselves everything, failed and learned through trial and error, and reached financial independence! They helped me believe I would do it for myself one day.

So as soon as I started working, I began putting away funds to purchase my first home.

At 17, I opened a high yields savings account that would mature in 5 years. I worked multiple part time jobs through my undergrad, saved excess scholarship money, and kept my expenses low. I learned how to build my credit and manage a budget. I paid off all my debts – making me debt-free!

I made sacrifices and missed some important events along the way. Many times I was doubtful that I’d be able to purchase a home in general, let alone, on my own.

But here I am. It’s closing day. I officially bought my first home on my own at 23! This is just the beginning 🥂
