Read his testimony as shared on LinkedIn:
Early this week i started a new chapter of my life.
Coming from Oïcha, a small town near Beni in the eastern part of D.R. Congo, it’s an honor and pleasure to share that I have started grad school at Princeton University where I am very fortunate to be advised by Professor Adji Bousso Dieng to whom I am extremely grateful for her support, guidance and mentoring.
4 years ago I didn’t know Princeton existed at all. My only desire was to learn while doing excellent work. Today I am here, grateful to everyone that has been part of this journey (Sincerely everyone).
After 10 rejections during my first application cycle, I could have never imagined that success could be part of the second application cycle.
A reminder to always dare to try again.
Accepted into half of the PhD programs I applied for (three out of six), I am grateful to God, my parents and friends for their prayers and continuous support.
All my gratitude to my High School teachers and University Professors who have been part of my education. Many thanks the BEBUC Scholarship program for the support since 2013.
I am thankful to all my mentors and supervisors who never doubted my abilities even when I doubted myself. Thank you for being patient with me.
Taking a leap of Faith, I am looking forward to an exciting journey at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Materials Science at Vertaix at Princeton University surrounded by great minds and led by an exceptional advisor (vertaix.Princeton.edu). Thank you for the support and the resources.
Let the journey starts…
