Young Man Who’s An Intern At PZ Cussons, Says The Experience Has Been Nothing Short Of Amazing

A young man named Victor Stephen Komolafe has shared his experiences on LinkedIn as he recently became an intern for PZ Cussons, Ikorodu plant.

Read his post below:

Three months ago, I got an undergraduate chemical engineering internship role at PZ Cussons, Ikorodu plant, which is specialized in the manufacture of homecare and personal care products.

The experience has been nothing short of amazing. I have experienced working in personal care factories that manufactures products like Morning Fresh liquid detergent, Robb ointment and inhaler, baby wipes, baby powder and methylated powder, pomade, and baby jelly.

The experience, being my first industrial experience, exposed me to manufacturing processes and quality control on large scale. From the neutralization reaction in the manufacture of liquid detergent, to working mechanisms of the valves and pumps, and understanding the chemistry and mechanics of mixing reactions in reactors, the experience exposed me to all areas in the chemical industry, including safety.

I also worked at the wastewater treatment plant which treats over 400 cubic metres of wastewater in 24 hours. From the bar screen, to oil trap phase, to equalization which is aimed at balancing the pH, and other treatment processes like flocculation and aeration.

In the next months, I will be working in another personal care factory, specialized in manufacture of toiletries, antiseptics, relaxers, baby oil, body creams, and body lotions. I will also be working with the technical manager, Mr. Korede Dodo-Mustapha on skids optimization projects, amidst others.

I am so excited for the knowledge acquired and to be acquired. Thanks to PZ Cussons for this internship opportunity.
