Alas! ACA at 18!
I started my ICAN journey at the age of 14 in the year 2018. I was told how hard ICAN is and how I might not cope due to my age but I didn’t allow that to deter me.
By the grace of God, I finished the Accounting Technician Scheme West Africa(ATSWA) with a stainless record and I was inducted as an Associate Accounting Technician(AAT) in December 2019.
I moved on to the skills level, wrote my exam in December 2020 and I cleared all four papers in one sitting.
After that, I proceeded to the Professional stage and I realised that I was on the verge of becoming the youngest Chartered Accountant at 17 but things didn’t go as planned. The May 2021 diet was a tough one for me as I passed two out of five papers in my Professional exams.
I didn’t allow the failure destabilise me. I rewrote the remaining three papers in November 2021. This time, I passed SFM and Case Study but still failed AAA. I still didn’t give up and kept pushing because “Winners don’t surrender”.
Today, I come out to say I claimed victory over ICAN and I am now a Chartered Accountant after passing the May 2022 diet.
I want to thank God for the grace to complete this programme. I thank my Parents and Brothers for their guidance and financial support. I also appreciate Password Professional Tutors, Right Path Professional tutors and their lecturers for their efforts. I thank all my friends for their backing and supports throughout the journey.
I am open to mentoring and internship opportunities in Corporate Finance and Investment Banking.
