“Your Professional Life Should Not Stop Your Personal Life”- Says Mum Of 2 Who’s Set To Start Business School

Proud mum of two, named Latrece Williams has narrated that she made the decision to attend business school while she was pregnant with her second child.

Latrece went further to share motivating words saying:
“Your professional life should not stop your personal life and that women can have it all”.

She would be attending
University of Michigan – Stephen M. Ross School of Business Full-Time MBA program.

Sharing photos of her beautiful family on LinkedIn, she wrote:

I am thrilled to announce I’m coming home! This fall I will be attending the University of Michigan – Stephen M. Ross School of Business Full-Time MBA program as a The Consortium for Graduate Study in Management fellow and Dean’s Fellow.

I was laughing recently about how my life reflects the fact that before 2020 I never would have considered going back to business school. But after guidance from multiple mentors, prayer, and some divine intervention, here we are! As they say, we plan, God laughs!

While I made the decision in 2020, I knew I still wanted to have another baby in 2021. I’m a firm believer that 1. your professional life should not stop your personal life and 2. women can have it all – we just have to be clear about what “it all” is in each season of life.

Major shoutout to my best friend Alysha McFall for talking me into MLT MBA Prep and for being my first and most inspirational example of what a #MBAmama looks like.

So I went through Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT) MBA Prep while pregnant, having my second daughter between the second and third seminars. A sincere thank you is due to my coach, Krista Giancarlo, for helping me prioritize my time and energy throughout this journey. To anyone considering getting an MBA, I highly recommend the MLT MBA Prep program!

Lastly, many of you know this move is divinely personal as well, as my dad was recently diagnosed with dementia. So coming home is serving multiple purposes, to say the least.

Thank you doesn’t suffice but I must publicly recognize my amazing husband James D. Williams II for how he so intentionally has shown up for me throughout this journey. And to all of my family, friends, and colleagues who supported me from studying for the GMAT to packing up our house – THANK YOU.

Michigan – here we come! Go Blue!
