Meet South African Scientist,
Founder & Managing Director Of Galactic Energy Ventures, An Investment Company Focused On The Energy Needs Of Emerging Markets

He blew up his mom’s kitchen in the process of developing a record-breaking rocket and creating safer, more energy-efficient rocket fuel.

Siyabulela Lethuxolo Xuza is a South African scientist, energy-engineering expert, entrepreneur and Harvard engineering graduate.

He is the founder and managing director of Galactic Energy Ventures, an investment company focused on the energy needs of emerging markets.

At six years of age, he saw a helicopter flying across his township and his dream began.

His mother’s Mthatha kitchen was the place where it all started after he graduated from Harvard ; the kitchen became his laboratory where he worked towards formulating the key recipe of his rocket fuel.

After 77 failures and over six months of building his rocket he was able to find the winning recipe. Xuza’s science project won gold at the National Science Expo.

He was also given the Dr Derek Gray Memorial award for the most prestigious project in South Africa.

He was later entered into the Intel International Science & Engineering Fair in the US, competing against 52 countries and winning the gold medal.

Xuza boasts a long list of achievements in the field of science and engineering. Impressively, he developed his own rocket fuel and rocket.

The rocket achieved a height of over one kilometre, propelling him on a remarkable path around the globe.

Siyabulela ultimately returned home to address Africa’s need for sustainable energy solutions through his company, Galactic Energy Ventures.
