Lady Who Left Her 9-5 Job, Now Owns A Restaurant That Host Companies End Of Year Parties, Meet Benita Ivharue, Founder Of
ABees Place

A lady named Benita Ivharue has shared her experience working in an organization for 8 years and how she left the job to start her own business which is now very successful in space of just one year.

Sharing the lengthy post on LinkedIn, she wrote;

It’s been 1 year since I quit my 9-5 job.

I had a different write up, but that would have been me talking more about the company & how I think they “did me dirty” after 8 years of service. Now this post is not about that, but about my transition, my journey in the last year, my growth as a person & growth of my businesses. Just a good story & encouragement to others who might be in the same space.

Before I quit, I was conflicted as to which direction to move, for over 7 years, I worked & managed my business.

I spoke to a lot of people, they must have been tired as we had this discussion over & over.. I prayed consistently, I saw the signs, I LITERALLY heard from God but I chose to be stubborn & still say “oh no I haven’t heard clearly”.

I resigned, but recalled my resignation almost immediately and stayed back at the job (wrong move right there!) still not fully satisfied with my choice.. then life happened which helped me make the decision, this showed me that truly, God is intentional about us, everything we do & every step we take.

I moved from 9-5 to working all day! I wake up & I am engaged, I am thinking, my focus is on one thing and not split! My plans are bigger and I have all of me to achieve them. I love this – that I have time – my time to do more.

God has been showing up for me through amazing people & I am excited at the things I have planned! Feels like my brain has expanded & I am thinking & seeing things I never thought.

In 1 year, I have done more with expanding my business & offerings. I don’t just own a successful restaurant and bar called ABees Place in Lekki, Lagos, I grew more as a pro mixologist handling multiple events, I played around with setting up a space, now I decorate & transform spaces to suit any event type, then I added surprise packages and food trays to my business offerings.

My restaurant/bar (ABees Place) not only provide meals & drinks for the people of Lagos, we now host company end of year parties, team bondings, bridal showers, all kinds of mini events and is known to be an experience center, where you are certain of fun & a good time.

With my love for traveling & exploring new places, I started another business where I plan tours, mini vacations and draw out exciting tour packages – so I still get to travel, have getaways & trips with amazing people.

I look back & smile, it’s been an amazing journey, growth has been tremendous, I am proud of my move & content with the satisfaction I get from watching my business grow more than I ever imagined.

I like that I am building something, I like the progress and I loovveeee the story! I did it afraid, I am glad I did. Now would I go back to the corporate world? Who knows? I found joy in what I do and I am enjoying the here and now.

Thanks to everyone who listened when I spoke, for every encouraging word, for pushing me and believing I can do more.

I am on this journey happier & better and I believe things will ALWAYS work out for my good.

Cheers!
