Stephynie Malik, has shared a detailed summary of her life from age 2 to 49.
She concluded her post by saying “As you evolve, so will your purpose”.
Sharing the lengthy post on LinkedIn, she wrote:
I was 2 when my mother and who I thought was my father divorced.
I was 3 when my younger brother was born.
I was 3 when my mother had a full psychotic break.
I was 5 when my mother told me I was a street walker/hooker.
I was 7 when she moved a boyfriend into our house.
I was 12 and had been hospitalized 9 times with broken bones from her abuse. ❤️🩹
I was 13 when I ran away for the first time.
I was 14 when I was jumped and beaten by girls from another school and falsely accused of taking jewelry from a party I didn’t attend.
I was 15 when I found out my father wasn’t my father, my older siblings were not related to me, and everyone knew — EXCEPT me.
I was 15 when I found out my real father had drowned when I was 3, causing my mother to have a full psychotic break and never recover.
I was 15.5 when I became legally emancipated.
I was 16 when I finished high school on independent study.
I was 16.5 when I finally got into college on academic probation.
I was 18 when my mother had her friend call me to say there was a horrible accident and I needed to make the 6-hour drive home immediately. When I rushed through the door, she laughed hysterically that I “fell for it”.
I was 20 when someone gave me a chance at a low-level sales position.
I was 21 when I married the first person who paid attention to me.
I was 22 when I had my first child.
I was 23 when I became legally divorced and began paying him alimony.
I was 24 when I found out my FICO score was 500.
I was 24 when I made “manager” and got a salary I never believed I could achieve.
I was 25 when I got a bonus larger than my salary.
I was 26 when my younger brother had a full psychotic break.
I was 27 when I started consulting outside of work.
I was 28 when I got 4 promotions based on performance in 2 years.
I was 29 when I started my first consulting firm.
I was 30 when I hit over 3 million with no Google, LinkedIn or Facebook.
I was 31, 32 and 33 when my brother’s mental health continued to decline.
I was 33 when I lost my best friend to breast cancer. 💔
I was 34 when I closed the biggest strategic deal of my life.
I was 35 when I met the love of my life, adopted a child and had another!
35-45 I built businesses, became much more focused on behavioral leadership, and performance.
I was 45 when I launched a new global firm focusing on leadership performance, crisis management and business consulting.
I was 46 when we sold out every slot for the entire year.
I was 47 when I moved across the country with no friends or extended family. 🏡
I was 47 when COVID struck and I had to pivot my firms and reinvent them and myself.
I was 48 when I lost 9 members in my family.
I was 49 when our firm RESTRUCTURED, REINVENTED and started to thrive again! 💰
