TEN YEARS ago today my life completely turned upside down and inside out, in all the best possible ways.

I attended an event where I met a boy, my bunny boy, who would fulfill my hearts biggest desire, to become a Mom. RD was barely 5’ tall and 71 pounds the day I met him. I thought at first he was about 8-10 years old. He was 14 1/2 years old.

RD is traveling several new roads this year, spreading his wings, learning what it means to try things on his own. We tell him often, he has GREATNESS inside of him, and it’ll shine bright as long as he puts actions behind his dreams.

August of last year, RD got his own apartment and started what I believe will be a fascinating career with Busch Gardens. He’s been in two different entertainment roles, and now he’s wowing kids of all ages as a Zoo Education Tour Guide and Camp Counselor.

He’s also still plugging away with his college courses. We know it’s not easy, but he keeps trying. Shoot, there were some who said he wouldn’t even graduate high school, so every class he takes in college is a huge achievement.

Just watch and see. My kiddo, he’s a game changer and he’s going to change the world. While I miss the sweet little boy with the sweet soft voice, I’m excited to continue to watch the young man with the world at his fingertips, evolve into the person he is destined to be.

I love you son. By making me a Mom, you’ve made me a better daughter, sister, wife, businesswoman, colleague, and friend by being a shining example of what it means to NEVER give up.

This day will forever hold the most special place in my heart. 💜
