Lady Celebrates Becoming The First Graduate In Her Family, Says Her Family Is Proud Of Her
A lady named Rethabile Ramaota has shared how being the first graduate in her family brought them so much joy and they are proud of her.
Sharing the testimony with friends on LinkedIn, she wrote:
I didn’t want to attend my graduation ceremony till I realized last minute how much this moment means to my family.
As a first university graduate in my family, they are super proud of me and it would’ve been selfish of me to decide I won’t get on the stage and give them the full experience. 😊 I had always promised my grandma that when I graduate I’ll buy her first flight ticket and she’d come see me graduate in Cape Town.
How I almost lost her last year to a stroke made this more urgent as broke as I was, I made a way.
😅 They came, they saw, they’re still celebrating a week later. It all feels worth the trouble. Everytime my grandma looks at me she says at least one good thing happened in our lives; and I’m thinking there’s so much more to come I pray you stick around to experience the good life. Yes I come from a impoverished background, but we don’t carry our problems on our shoulders… I could go on and on about my past but nope I’m still processing it.😅😌 I can’t seem to embrace the past& pain, but we working on it… Though it definitely does not define my future.❤️🙌🏼
