Lady Who Provides Sales & Marketing Services At Her Job Says She Gained The Experience From Her Mum Who Was A Market Woman

A determined young lady named Lawrencia Yaa Kakra Gaisie has shared how she gained knowledge in marketing because her mum was a market woman.

Lawrencia who now works in an organization where she provides sales, customer care and, marketing services has concluded that she gathered those experiences while growing up and working with her mum who was a market woman.

Sharing the lengthy post on LinkedIn, she took time to analyse how she gathered her experiences.

As the daughter of a market woman, I spent most of my time there with my siblings. Initially, going to the shop was mandatory, but with time I developed the love and passion for selling .

I was her “right-hand man” in managing the shop’s affairs. I engaged customers, negotiated prices, and packaged goods for clients after a sale. I also learnt to negotiate and procure goods from her suppliers whenever she ran out, to the point where she entrusted me with dealing with them on her behalf.

I assisted my mother from when I was in primary school until I began my corporate career. My interest in business and selling persisted throughout my life and it was no surprise when i started my own mobile clothing business on campus . After a day’s lecture, I started my daily sales, moving between hostels, rooms etc to sell and market my clothes.

I mostly sold during the week and assisted my mother at the shop on Saturdays. Despite these numerous obligations, I made time for my education.
I graduated with a second-class upper-division, and after finishing my bachelor’s degree it was not a surprise when i ended up in the sales and marketing career.

My years of experience have horned my skills in business development , product management , customer service and sales and marketing which has made me the dynamic lady i am today .

With another fruitful year of growth and blessings,i am grateful to be here, alive , at peace and healthy. As i planned my year , my main focus was to invest in my personal and professional development and with my current participation in the Msc International Business program at the University of Ghana i believe i have taken the right path towards this goal.

Thus, I am entrusting God with the next chapter of my life. There is so much more to come, only by his grace.

Every action you take is a vote for the type of person you wish to become. Decide on the type of person you want to be and prove it to yourself with small wins.

Mine is to be great and nothing is stopping me.
