I saw a post on social media that said that your life can drastically change in 6 months. Well mine changed in just 1 month! You can’t tell me that the God I serve isn’t real!

In May 2020, God told me to move to Houston but I ignored Him and put it off. After a challenging year & getting fired from my job in Dec. 2020 I reconsidered. I figured what did I have to lose at that point. I tried saving up for months, but when you have rent due & no job it’s pretty much impossible to save money. By July 2021 I concocted a plan to drive cross-country from Baltimore to Houston & live out of my car.

Flashforward to Sept. 2021 I moved to Houston with no job & no place to stay. I would shower at the gym and sleep overnight in a Walmart parking lot. Oct. 2021 I got a job working at a cafe making $8 an hour. I was broke & stressed, yet still found a way to put a smile on my face daily. I felt like I shouldn’t have to work there with a college degree but reality set in & I had to do what I needed to make money for food & gas to survive.

Then suddenly my world came crashing down even more when my car was repossessed & instantly I had no transportation and more importantly nowhere to sleep at night. I was devastated & scared. And to add more perspective to my situation I’m estranged from my family so I literally had no one to call for moral or financial support. It was just me & God.

I only had $300 to my name so I booked an Airbnb for a couple of nights. But the host canceled on me without an explanation. I was sitting inside of my storage unit freaking out because my phone was about to die & night time was coming. But let me tell you how great God is & what He did in that moment. Because of the cancellation of my room, Airbnb gave me a credit & that allowed me to rebook another room for a few nights while I waited 3 days for my initial booking fee to credit back to my bank account. I was crying tears of joy!

So I rebooked a new room & the Airbnb hosts who I stayed with was a retired older white couple. After about a week of staying there I ran out of money & called around to a few homeless shelters, but they were all full. So I went to my Airbnb hosts & told them my backstory and that I was homeless but had a good feeling I would get hired for a job soon. I asked the wife could I stay with them until I found a job & she said yes. What an absolute blessing for her & her husband to have that much love & compassion in their hearts for a complete stranger. Fastforward to 2 weeks later in November 2021, after countless job interviews I landed not 1 but 2 job contracts. And one of the companies I landed was a Fourtune 500 company. I went in 1 month’s time from making $48 a day to making $400 a day.
