On the 26th of November 2019, I graduated from the Univeristy of Kent with a Third class honours in International Business. Upon reflection I’ve realise how my feelings fluctuated throughout the day. I was overjoyed at the fact that I had completed a 4 year degree despite failing my second year. However, I was also saddened at the fact that I was only able to achieve a third class degree.
5 months after graduation, I had applied for over 150 graduate schemes and entry level roles, and had no luck. It got to the point where I was distressed and needed hope. So, I sat myself down, prayed and had an honest conversation with God. I understood that I had to return back to University to show myself that I was capable of academic excellence.
So, I did it. I applied for my masters. I had faith in God that I would be accepted onto a masters programme despite what I achieved in my undergraduate programme. Guess what……..I GOT ACCEPTED! I genuinely didn’t understand how, but I knew it was God!
So, I created a plan, I was committed and I promised myself that I would work harder than I’ve ever worked in my life. I attended EVERY lecture and seminar and build a good relationship with ALL of my lectures. There were many challenges but they all taught me how to build resilience!
I can’t honestly can not believe I’m saying this but today…. I graduated with a Distinction in MSc International Business Management!
God is faithful! I give all glory to him!
To my graduates that haven’t achieved the grades that they expected, don’t worry! You are still MORE than capable of achieving you dreams! Believe and stay obident to God. He will guide you and NEVER forsake you!
