Lady Shares How She Got Pregnant While Just Starting A New Job Last Year, Gives Birth To Twins

A lady named Ike O. has narrated how she got pregnant the month she got hired for a new job last year. Ike gave birth to twins, says she’s grateful to her employee for making her work easier even with pregnancy.

Sharing the lengthy post on LinkedIn, she wrote:

I started 2022 heading straight into maternity leave at 31 weeks pregnant. Too early?

When you’re carrying twins and your belly is already at capacity but still growing exponentially, you really have no choice.

So grateful to my employers for making working while pregnant a walk in the park. Plus I’m even entitled to company maternity pay 🤑.

I joined them in June 2021.

Got pregnant same month 😄. Kept thinking, you just started working here, how are they going to take it?

Errr… it was taken too well. My line manager and my department’s director were excited 😳😳😳

But how? I’m about to disrupt everything – you can’t possibly be rejoicing at that!

I soon discovered I wasn’t disrupting anything. I’m adding to the future workforce 😛

Yes I was seriously fatigued, without energy, sometimes couldn’t even talk 😅 and was constantly sleeping or looking for where to lay my head. Even slept off once during a virtual meeting and woke up almost an hour later to find just me on the screen 🤣. Thankfully video was off! Hopefully they weren’t calling for me to contribute to the discussion🚶‍♀️🚶‍♀️🚶‍♀️

Despite these challenges, I did my work once I had some energy even if it meant working at night. I had 1 sick day the entire pregnancy – shocking. All I know is I wanted to still rock at my job, finish my tasks and projects and I managed to do that, even passing my end of year performance review 😳😳😳. We can’t let people think pregnant women are a liability.

3 weeks ago, I welcomed my twins (a boy and girl) to the world 😁. I call them H & M – not after the store and surely not Harry & Meghan.

On top trying to nurture and love them right, I’m still studying for my PhD (refused to defer as I may never return to it. You gerrit?) and I’m about to start this module’s research assignment 😰😇. Plus been working on a digital solution for the last year and still on that. Juggling these and new found motherhood……. I leave it to your imagination 😀

Here’s to being a working, studying and businessing mama.

I rock ✌️

🌟 Edit/Update – Thanks all for the love and comments. Not one person told me this isn’t Facebook and to take my personal post there😜. How lovely. 🤗

I never expected to get this much reaction from me technically sharing I gave birth to twins. 330k views and counting! Unbelievable!

I have been called a super woman by many. One even asked or wondered where I get energy from.
