Kenyan Who Woman Was Dumped By Her Husband Builds Lovely Home Rentals After Hustling With Two Jobs

An inspiring story of a lady who was dumped by her husband, but was determined to make it after her landlord threw her out lady with daughter on the cold. She worked two jobs, nurse at day and okada rider at night. She was able to build a beautiful house.

Peter Oduor shared her story on his Facebook with photos of new house she built.

He wrote:

Mid 2017, Eunice Otieng’ thought her life was crumbling to pieces; her husband duped her into taking loans and left her for another woman, with the loans to service on her own.

She also had months long rent arrears and her landlord closed down her house, leaving her and the baby out in the cold.

Today, some four years later, the Busia is both a landlord and homeowner.

Eunice is a nurse, but her salary went into the repayment of the loans that she took for her ex-spouse.

So she switched to night shifts and worked as a nurse at night. During the day, she hustled as a boda boda rider (she owned a motorbike).

“I decided that I will work hard for my baby to get the best. I think I was working hard with a lot of anger to change my life. That’s why I was able to finish the house,” Otieng told Tuko News.

She saved a sum of Sh 26,000 and started a small business in 2018. Since she had a piece of land that she had bought before marriage, she started building her house using money she had saved for her daughter. When she finished her house, she bought another piece of land and started on the rentals that are now complete.
