Most of my mates who engaged in internet fraud “Yahoo Yahoo” while I was learning tech skills 15 years ago are all broke now, some in prison or lost their lives.

Most without any tangible skills to earn them a living after squandering their ill-gotten money.

I can understand the pressure young people face when you see your mate buying cars, wearing designers and spending wild in clubs. Girls flock around them, and you can’t even figure out what to eat for dinner and wear a set of clothes for months.

I have experienced it, I have been there. I was ridiculed and laughed at. There was a time when my best meal of the week was at wedding receptions of people I don’t know.

I remember I will go to a cyber cafe for all night browsing to download web design resources, a cafe filled with young people smoking, drinking all the expensive drinks you can think of and girls on their laps looking for whom to scam online. So I have more than enough temptation and reasons to join them. While some say it to my face why am I wasting my time building websites while I can use my tech skills to earn millions as a scammer?

Today I can tell you that technology skills saved me and turn my life around, I have the opportunity to study in some of the best schools in the world, selected for prestigious fellowships, travel to different countries around the world and have worked and met brilliant minds from all over the globe.

Aside from all I have achieved I can sleep peacefully at night without watching my back. The time you are trying to put into internet fraud and looking for a victim to take their hard earn money, you can put the same into acquiring a tech skill that will change your life forever. The world is now a village town hall and technology is the stage take advantage of it.
