Chief, Dr. Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma
is a Nigerian business magnate, astute entrepreneur and investor.

He is the founder and CEO of Innoson Vehicles Manufacturing, Nigeria’s first indigenous automobile manufacturing company.

Innocent had high hopes of being an engineer. Working in line with this vision, he applied at the university to study engineering but unfortunately couldn’t get in due to his inability to meet the cut-off mark.

Without formal tertiary education, Innocent Chukwuma had gone extraordinary to put Nigeria on the automotive map and achieved significant success with his entrepreneurship spirit and becoming an employer of labour with multiple chains of businesses.

When Innocent Chukuma personally ventured into motorcycle sales, he realised that most people were importing used motorcycles into Nigeria, and that their prices were really high.

This prompted him to device a way to bring in brand new motorcycles into the country, at a price far lower than the used motorcycles.

Innocent revealed that he felt the need for Nigerians to have their own indigenous vehicle manufacturing plant with constant high cost on imported cars which most Africans can’t afford.

He later founded a vehicle manufacturing company called Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM), which manufactures trucks, SUVs, buses, sedans, and even spare parts for the Nigerian army’s fighter jets.

The company produces motorcycles tyres and tubes. They produce about 8,000 pieces of motorcycle tyres and 13,000 tubes daily.

The company’s plant is located in Enugu State, South-East region of Nigeria and currently collectively employs over 7,400 Nigerians and counting.
