Sharing his Testimonies on LinkedIn, he wrote:
Today, I graduated with Distinction with an MA in International Communications and Development at City, University of London.
For years, I focused on how people view my inadequacies and inabilities to conclude that nothing worthwhile can come from me.
For instance, when I shared that I’d like to be like my late grandfather (Professor Micheal Adepoju Adeyemo), the first Nigerian Professor of Accounting, I was seen as someone who wasn’t bright nor talented enough to achieve such height.
Well, they were right because I don’t need to be the smartest or brightest as all I needed was to embrace the possibility of achieving my dream and working HARD towards it.
Consequently, I shifted my focus to believing in God and myself. It also turned out that few people believed in me and that is why I am here today. Special thanks to Carolina Matos (PhD, FHEA), Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and City, University of London.
Apart from the outstanding academic learnings at City, I’ve learnt how to listen more, be organized, do thorough self-search of myself and most importantly take full responsibility for all my actions and inactions.
Today, I am grateful to God for the gifts of amazing family, lecturers, friends and colleagues. I am equally happy with how far I’ve come as I look forward to climbing the next big ladder.
