IGP Usman Baba Decorates Husband, Wife as Police Commissioners
Inspector-General of Police Usman Alkali Baba has decorated newly promoted senior officers in the force with their new ranks.
Among those decorated as police commissioners were husband and wife, Kehinde and Yetunde Longe.
The couple were among those recently promoted by the Police Service Commission (PSC) along with 15 other commissioners of police.
Two deputy inspectors general of police, six assistant inspectors general of police and eleven commissioners were decorated with their new ranks on Friday, January 14, by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Usman Alkali Baba.
Leadership reports that a couple, Kehinde Patrick Longe and his wife, Yetunde Longe, were among the commissioners of police decorated.
Both Kehinde and his wife were promoted by the Police Service Commission (PSC) along with 15 other commissioners of police, The Nation added.
While reading their citations, CP Frank Mba, the policespokesman, said the husband and wife were course mates and joined the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) on the same day.
The couple were enlisted into the force on March 3, 1990, as cadet assistant superintendents of police (ASP). Kehinde and Yetunde who met at the Police Academy in Wudil, Kano state developed a relationship that has bloomed into a long-subsisting marriage.
