This morning, I met with Ikeoluwa Okunola, a student of Greater Tomorrow Model College, Ado Ekiti who scored A1 in all the nine subjects of his 2021 West African Examination Council (WAEC) exam.

I am very proud of him. His achievement demonstrates the diligence, excellence, and hard work – values that define us as Ekiti people.

As a responsible government, we have offered him a scholarship up to first degree level and we will continue to monitor his academic progress.

Our children are our hope and channel for achieving greater goals as a people, and Education is the best means of securing their future.

This is why we built schools, equipped them, renovated existing ones, provided well trained teachers and free, compulsory and qualitative basic education for our pupils in Ekiti State.

This young achiever is a great testament to our heritage as the Land of Honour – Ile Iyi, Ile Eye. I hope other students are inspired.

Congratulations Ikeoluwa!
