“Engineering Is For Everyone” Says Nigerian Lady Who Disassembled Engine With Lots Of Heavy Components

Hardworking lady named Favour T Chinyere has shared briefly how she was able to disassemble an engine with lots of heavy components.

She went further to state that, engineering is not for men, engineering is not for women, but engineering is for everyone.

Sharing photos on her linkedIn while at work, she wrote;

When I kick started my job, I got task that required little or no much energy. They gave me task that were relatively easy and didn’t require heavy tightening or torquing. So, one day I realized that I didn’t study engineering to do easy task ( which were basically bringing tools, cleaning the tools after work and sending them back to the tool box).

I was so anxious and ready to learn and grow in the field of engineering and then realize the only way to do that was an active hands-on on the engine. Therefore on a fateful day, a project came which required disassembly of an engine, i raised my hand quickly for a possible shot at handling the project, I saw how surprised everyone was and I never let that discourage me.

I managed to disassemble the engine with lots of heavy components to carry, yeah I was physically exhausted but also happy I carried out the task at the end of the day.

All thanks to my supervisors! Teammates! and senior Tech in the department for the great support they gave me.

what I learnt from that:

  • is that engineering is not for men, engineering is not for women, engineering is for everyone.
  • Every task is an opportunity to outshine your previous self
  • Lastly your work speaks on your behalf let it speak volume.

Don’t forget to tag other ladies that might need to see this ❤️.
