Please introduce yourself?
My name is Charles Ituah I am a freelance food product designer. I am passionate about design, packaging and branding
While we were younger we all had dreams and aspirations, have you fulfilled any?
I love looking at things from a rational angle and my idea of fulfillment comes mainly from an idea that as long as I am happy that despite the many challenges I faced while going through life, I have been ticking all the boxes of satisfaction, a sense of peace and a good enough reason to be grateful for my journey so far, so yes I may not be exactly where I want to be but I am glad that I started this journey anyway.
So to answer your question, I have actually fulfilled a lot of things in my life and I am still learning.
What motivated you to start up a food products designs?
I have always loved food and the look and feel of food packaging get me fired up to look at what is in the box. Also, I love designs and I somehow wanted to combine food and design to solve problems through the power of visually appealing product designs that will help business professionals and entrepreneurs to drive sales to their products.

At what point did you discover your rare kind of talent?
I won’t exactly call it rare, since a lot of other designers in this space are into the same thing, I just wanted to have a niche so I don’t spread myself too thin.
Did you attend any form of training?
I am actually self-taught. I learned through watching Youtube videos and experimenting with Photoshop and Illustrator.
Where do you get your inspiration from?
I do research on different food brands and I create designs based on products that consumers patronize. I particularly like Munch iT and it was one of the reasons why I wanted to design food products.
What are the major challenges you’ve encountered and also setbacks you’ve faced doing this business?
The major challenge I am currently facing is getting the right gigs and as a freelancer, I don’t get gigs too often, so what I do is to keep marketing myself and I host a weekly podcast where I share my thoughts on food branding to expand my client reach.
What are the most pleasant comments you’ve ever received from your customer?
I get a lot of encouraging comments from LinkedIn and I love reading positive feedback as well as critics feedback as well as it keeps me motivated to learn every day.
In Nigeria talented entrepreneurs hardly get support from the government, how does this affect you?
I just keep showing up, regardless of what the government has in mind. I know the country is tough, but we have to just keep showing up to stay true to our brand story.
Where do you see your brand in 5 years?
I hope to connect with interesting clients both at home and abroad and scale my brand successfully. I also want to explore the food brand industry as well.
