A lady named Blossom Martins has shared an heartbreaking story of a woman (street cleaner) and mother of five kids who Slumped on the road in Abuja.

Sharing the news on her LinkedIn platform, she wrote;

What a day!!! 🥺🥺🥺
Let me tell you a short story of how my day turned out…

I was driving to work today at about 6:30am,
I had a presentation at 7:30am,
I had a zoom meeting at 9am, and my office is preping for their 20th anniversary end of year party which I was in charge of all the activities..

My day was already planned, everything was cumbersome as I had engagements I couldn’t afford to miss back back…

It was a beautiful bright Friday morning and I was listening to a radom audio book while driving ,
I was also dressed in a lovely dark green gown😁
It already seems like a perfect day 🥺

I got to a junction and I saw a small crowd gathered and a woman lying on the ground, the little scene caught my attention and I began watching and observing the activities playing out as I waited for the traffic light 🚦 to hit the green light ….

From my observation
Two cars stopped by and drove off, people just gathered looking at the woman lying on the ground and it didn’t seem to me like anyone was willing to help or even take charge of the suitation.

One man was covering her body with a rapper, and another was looking for water to sprinkle on her face 🥺🥺

I got worried and as the traffic light was green, I made a U turn to see what was actually going on, and as I got closer I saw two men taking pictures of the scene and people just standing and looking with hands akimbo 🥺🥺🥺

I got upset,
Like? How do you all just stand and watch this woman dying and y’all are just acting like this…

I learnt immediately she is a street cleaner,
She sweeps 🧹 the streets of abuja every morning to take care of her 5 kids 😭😭 and just like every other morning, she was sweeping the streets and suddenly slumped😳

My heart broke immediately, I got a taxi ASAP , some of her colleagues joined the taxi, I drove behind them to the hospital, And on getting there, she was taken to the emergency unit immediately , I processed all necessary paperwork and she was admitted,

The doctor said to me “Madam if this lady had been a minute later than you brought her, the story would have been different….

They put her on oxygen and they had began to treat her… 🙏🥺

I felt like I was the Angel God sent to this woman today 🥺🥺🥺
I missed out on all my engagements,

I don’t even know if I still have a contract with the company that booked me for a meeting with their stakeholders at 9am 🥺🥺
but somehow I don’t feel bad about missing out on this contract I have been pursuing for months, I felt like I won…

I saved a life today and that is enough..

Am going to make sure she never have to pick up that broom 🧹 ever again or go back to the slump we’re she came from…

I pray she recovers really fast and her health is restored 🙏

It’s been an exhausting day for me, but I feel fulfilled….
