While we were younger we all had dreams and aspirations, have you fullfilled any?
My dream as a young person was to see and experience the world, but as I grow older having the special ability to create images, I realise that with my art I can literally travel the world and impact people with what I do. For me, i’m on a journey that’s just beginning and my work is helping connect with with so much people and creating such impact that’s mind blowing. My passion as a young child is helping me impact the world through my art

At what point did you discover your rare kind of talent in stainless steel cutlery sculptures?
2012, in the course of a research in a classes to embark on exploring nonconventional mediums in sculpture birthed the idea of cutlery as a medium in art. I created my first piece a cockerel using 12 dozens of spoon. It was quite an experimental piece but it open me up to greater possibilities. Now I look back and am in awe at how far I have gone.
Where do you get your inspiration from?
I am inspired by my journey as a person. Childhood experiences and struggle to evolve into a better person. My society and and social issue draws me into thinking and using my work as a means of drawing attention to events and challenges as well as trying to evoke new conversations. I am interested in spirituality, the beauty and wonder of how the world works and how cosmic events influence our existence as human.
What are the major challenges you’ve encountered and also setback you’ve faced doing this business?
Lack of support from the system access to the right research centres and materials a a limitation I this part of the world. Lack of power supply hinder and slow down work process and you spend a lot more running your production than necessary.
What is the most pleasant comments you’ve ever received from your customer?
A collector once ask me in excitement ‘ who are you and where have you been all alone. You’re the best thing that ever happened to the art world in this generation. He hugged me for long time and I was overwhelmed by his words. I feel blessed.
In Nigeria talented entrepreneurs hardly get support from the government, how does this affect you?
We’ve lost alot of talent to the challenges of life because of lack of suppose for creative and innovative people. As a creative Nigerian you have to work 3times harder than your counterparts from anyway in the world. All odd seems to work against your effort, so you have to develop thicker skin breaking through doors.
Where do you see Artbycollins in 5 years?
5 years time I want to be exhibiting in the biggest galleries and museum all over the world and mentoring young people on starting career as an artist.
