Lady Who Is Presently Working At Google Shares Photos From 7 Years Ago, Says “If You Apply For A Job & Didn’t Get It, It’s Just Not The Set Time”

Pretty lady named Uchechi Udeoka has shared an inspirational post on her LinkedIn platform while encouraging people never to give up when it’s not yet the set time.

Sharing photos of 7 years ago, and celebrating her new status, she narrated briefly how she had gotten rejected on jobs she applied for while in Nigeria.

But right now, she’s presently working at Google.

She went further to motivate people saying when you get job rejections never give up.

She wrote;

Long post ahead, If interested, keep reading…….

I recently came across this picture on the left which I took 7 years ago with my BB Z10 and which happened to be my first Linkedin profile picture ( as embarrassing as that is toadmit now 😀 but hey there’s growth) .

Filled with Nostalgia, I thought about my journey to where I am now and one thought stands out! “THERE IS NEVER SUCH A THING AS A PERFECT TIME BUT THERE IS DEFINITELY SUCH A THING AS A SET TIME.”

My current role at Google wasn’t my first attempt at applying for a job in Google. I had applied for positions previously while in Nigeria but didn’t get the job, not because I was a bad candidate rather I needed to have those extra years of experience at my previous company to set me up for success in my current role! Talk about set time!

People always say there’s never a perfect time to start anything; whether it be starting a business, applying for a job, writing a book or being healthier, we are all advised to just start. However, if that is all there is to it, how can we explain the fact that 95% of startups fail within 2 years of operation?

If there’s anything I have learnt during my career journey is that the concept of “just start” is relative. Starting something anytime doesn’t equate to it being the right time. You might apply for a job and not get it because it just isn’t the set time! You might start a business but struggle to keep it afloat because it isn’t the set time! You might want to get fit but you struggle with consistency because the timing is just off and the events in your life isn’t in sync.

Set time is the reason why the COVID-19 pandemic paid off for a lot of tech businesses and created massive job and business opportunities for many; I mean an entire job sector was built from this pandemic – Content Creation, while being unfavourable to some.

If you’re a Christian then Ecc 3 vs1 would be the perfect reference to this post.
With this realisation, I have come to be at peace with events in my life. If I experience job rejections, failure or delay, it just means the set time isn’t here yet and that’s fine!
