  • Dr Douglas Antwi is a young Ghanaian medical practitioner who was rejected three times when he applied into the KNUST and UG Medical Schools
  • It all started in 2012 after Antwi graduated from senior high school with 8As
  • He decided not to give up on his dreams and reapplied to UDS where he got accepted, trained and certified

A young Ghanaian student by the name Douglas Antwi, who was rejected by the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and the University of Ghana Medical Schools, has become a doctor.

According to a post put up on the Twitter handle of Ghana Stories, @Ghanaspotlight, Douglas had applied three times in total, once at UG and twice at KNUST.

The relentless applicant decided not to take no for an answer as he had 8As in his West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) in the year 2012.

See the narration below:

Instead of giving up, Douglas Antwi reapplied the fourth time but on this occasion, at the University for Development Studies (UDS).

He was gladly admitted into the medical school there and he thereafter graduated as a certified medical doctor which has always been his dream for a long time.

It is not known on what basis KNUST and UG did not accept Douglas despite his brilliant grades but his story teaches the power in never giving up on one’s dreams.
