People I Trusted Failed Me For Selfish Reasons –John Ogu
Super Eagles midfielder, John Ogu, has regretted that those he trusted in his football career failed him for selfish reasons.
He said this in a series of tweets on Friday.
According to the former Hapoel Beer Sheva midfielder, one of his deals crashed because of the selfish interest of one of those he trusted.
Ogu said, despite the disappointment, he ended up in Israel to become a “King” with the help of his brother, Tony Nwakaeme.
He narrated, “I know a lot of people are like what’s up with John Ogu? Is he done playing? I know a lot of y’all are like I love that guy so much. The guy is so passionate for the Super Eagles and so on.
“Truth is a lot of people I trusted failed me in my career, moving forward. I remembered I trusted someone back here in Nigeria after I signed for Almeria in La Liga then but because of their selfish interest for me to play in Belgium, the deal crashed but we moved!
“(I) went to Portugal and then I was without a top club, later ended up in Israel where I became king with the help of my brother Tony Nwakaeme, on the field, where we won titles together. I’m so proud to see him buzzing hard in Turkey and flourishing.
“(I) Stayed out without a team for months before a friend helped me to get a deal in Saudi (Arabia). (I) moved there and started a new life then came COVID-19! I’m grateful to God for all he has done for me,” he said.
Ogu said he is working hard to secure a new deal after leaving Saudi Arabia outfit Al-Adalah FC six months ago following the expiration of his contract.
“I’m as hungry as ever to succeed in this life and career God has chosen for me. Market is opened, I’m working so hard to get back on the pitch. When all is done, I shall update you all.”
