Nigerian man grows from university security guard to graduate and now lecturer

When hard work, determination and resilience are put into good use, every dream no matter how big, becomes possible. This is clearly reflected in the story of a Nigerian man identified as Adamu Garba.

According to a Facebook page, Life In Arewa, he used to be a security guard at the Federal University in Wukari. He, however, got into school, graduated and was recently made a lecturer in the department of sociology. The post reads: “Meet Adamu Garba, Former Federal University Wukari Security Guard. Mr Abubakar went from cattle rearing to Security Guard at the Federal University Wukari to Student who graduated with 2:1 and now a Lecturer with the Department of Sociology

“Adamu Garba was first employed as Security Guard with NCE on 1/9/2012 on CONTISS 5/2, he rose up to CONTISS 8/2 in same department. He gained admission through DE and graduated earlier this year. He is now a Graduate Assistant. Truly inspiring! #LifeInArewa” Adamu Garba went from being a university security guard to becoming a graduate at the same varsity.
