Okay let me shake small table.
Biko if you’re sleeping on this table, waka pass, I no get strength this night. 🙃
You see this little fine wine on the first above pictures? that’s Ujunwa Esther Ibekwe-Agu ‘s maid. No, I don’t like to call her maid, that’s Ujunwa’s little sister, that’s how she treats her… Like her little sister.
Now, look at the last picture, that’s another person’s maid. The picture trended on social media a few days ago so I saved it for this post. I asked Ujunwa to allow me use her girl’s pictures to pass this message across, she refused. It took me hours to convince that yeye girl. She stubborn die! 😡
I’ve read so many stories about how some women maltreat their maids and it makes me really sad. It’s funny how someone who does practically everything in the house gets the least treatment.
What in God’s name would make you ask your maid to sleep in the kitchen? Why can’t she sleep with you guys in the room? She is human too and deserves the same love and care you give your kids. your maid is someone’s child, do you treat her the way you would want another woman to treat your child? Being poor doesn’t make one any less of a human being. If you can’t treat your maid well, please send her back to her parents. Some prefer to stay in their poor little home than staying in a rich family that treat them like trash.
There are people who can’t even buy new clothes and shoes for their maids, yet they shop for their kids every week. You travel for vacation and leave your maid behind. You can’t take care of your kids alone without your maid, but when you travel for vacation, you can take care of them. Hanty fear God oo. 🙄
I’m not trying to make anyone feel bad this night, I just want some of you here to learn from this young lady. It’s not about being 100years in marriage, it’s about having a conscience, having a good heart.
Last week, Ujunwa sent me her kids result for last term and that of her maid and captioned it “proud mother”. She is happy that her maid is doing well academically too. Some of you don’t even care, as long as your kids are doing well, that’s all that matters. She posted pictures of her child’s dedication a few weeks ago, her maid was in almost all the pictures. How many of you will allow your maid to take pictures with you let alone posting it on social media?
If you make your maid your friend, she won’t hide anything from you. Make them feel loved and watch them protect your kids with their lives.
Today I want to celebrate all the women who treat their maids like family, may y’all be blessed beyond measure. 🙏
